Since childhood until now we are told that “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Considering the benefits of apple, it has been fermented to become vinegar. But this term is not new!! Apple cider vinegar has a long history and Hippocrates in the earlier days used this vinegar for the treatment of patients. In modern era as well, researches have claimed that apple cider vinegar has impressive benefits.

Firstly, apple cider vinegar can be seen as a remedy & supplement and it is more than a kitchen flavoring. The nutritional usefulness of apples is high with vitamins & minerals like iron, calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamin C. The same ingredients are present in apple cider vinegar just in the fermented form making it a beneficial drink. Apple cider vinegar can also be considered as “super food” which is proven to be good for the body as a whole. It is though suspicious to get that how can one food be good for everything? Well, it has beneficial effect on the immune system, so make an excellent preventative for any number of ailments.

Forget other detox recipes as only a small amount of it in the morning has strong beneficiaries. It also detoxifies your liver and provides better health and bodily functions. You should use it to get a healthy lymphatic system for proper circulation of lymph.

Apple cider vinegar has acetic acid present in it which blocks enzymes helping to digest starch. Consequently blood sugar gets balanced. You can take it as a splash in salads, marinades and sauce. Apple cider vinegar is considered as a home remedy for the sore throats and can cure the pain of it. This vinegar has antibacterial properties which help in killing the bacteria causing the issue. Again, as it is highly acidic, so use the diluted one with water otherwise it can cause throat burns. Also take this vinegar only in case of minor sore throats, and if you have severe one avoid taking this and consult to doctor first.

It helps to ease the digestive conditions like constipation or diarrhea and can also help with heartburn or acid reflux. Due to its acidic nature, it works effective for heartburn. But the diet of heartburn usually does not involve acidic foods, so it is suspicious to use this in this case or not. You can consult to doctor before taking any step. Have small amount of diluted vinegar in food or with water to sure indigestion.

If you are concerned about the pesticides residue on fruits & vegetables, wash it with apple cider vinegar from now. It removes more of the chemical residues from the fruits & vegetables which only water is incapable of doing. It also kills harmful bacteria present on fruits & vegetables like Ecoli or Salmonella.

There are many other benefits of apple cider vinegar for not only health but other aids like using in cleansers, as deodorizer, preserving food and many others. So using it can be beneficial for your health overall. But keep in mind that excessive use of anything has side-effects too. Same is in the case of this vinegar. Firstly, it can delay the rate of food leaving the stomach which can consequently cause gastric problems. Also, it can reduce appetite of a person; reduce potassium levels if consumed too much. It can also weaken the dental enamel and cause tooth decay. So, it should be consumed carefully by limiting its input value. Always start with a low amount and increase it as per your capability of digestion. Also, always take it as a dilute solution to prevent throat or skin burns. If monitored carefully, it can provide several health benefits.
